Rails

The rails simply bolt into the 3060 and 30120 section aluminium using either T-nuts, or trapezoidal nuts:

Bed (Y-axis) support

The bed slides on the lower rails, and is supported by a number of braces. Firstly, there is the carriage support which ties the two carriages on each side together:

The plate that attaches to the Y-axis ball-screw needed a small pocket:

With that in place, the motor, ballscrew, bearings and coupling could be loosely fitted. They would be properly fitted when the horizontal beams that tie the carriages on both sides to the ballscrew.

Adding in these beams meant that the front and rear positioning of the ballscrew and motor could be fixed.

And then the other supports, and bracing for the motor was attached.

And to give an idea for the bed, two spare 30120 sections was placed on top:

X-axis ballscrew

The X-axis ballscrew needed two mounting points for the bearing, which were at the rear of the gantry:
